Lizzy and Wyatt came to us early 2017 to inquire about their wedding, which was originally planned for Florida. They found us through friends online, and all 4 of us knew from the start that this would be a killer concoction of their beautiful chemistry mixed with our passion for capturing it. But as we all know, plans, especially those involving weddings, NEVER turn out how we first imagine them. And in their case, they turned out even better than they could have imagined.

A few months in to arranging plans for their Florida wedding, they relocated their family to Texas. because life doesn’t stop evolving and moving just because you’re planning a wedding (but wouldn’t that be nice?). Lizzy knew the original wedding in Florida was totaling way more guests (the snow-ball effect struggle is real, guys) and began to present so many overwhelming details than she truly envisioned for their day anyway, so they immediately decided to downsize and elope in New York City - music to our ears. They didn’t take long to decide where to relocate the celebration, since New York City has a special meaning to their relationship. In fact, it’s where Wyatt first told Lizzy he loved her, so they knew having an intimate NYC elopement was finally going to feel like the perfect fit…*queue the ugly crying*. So, after nailing down the Kimberly Hotel and setting the plans in stone, they called us to break the (oh-so-devastating) news that we will now be going to New York to shoot their wedding. Well, they first asked if we’d be down, but is that REALLY a question?

We packed our bags, cameras and memory foam sneakers included, and couldn’t wait to experience all the lovely moments that Lizzy and Wyatt’s weekend would present us with. We kicked off the weekend by visiting their beautiful honeymoon suite in the iconic Plaza Hotel, where I was geeking out because one of my favorite childhood films was filmed in that same hotel! We had a quick little shoot in the room, which was giving us the most gorgeous natural lighting, to spark some once in a lifetime “we’re getting married tomorrow!” feels. Then, on the magical day of, we ate way too many street hot dogs, joined the wedding party in some *semi-intoxicated* singing of “Congratulations” by Post Malone in the Kimberley Hotel’s elevator, and even almost had our bags stolen by an Uber driver (adventure at it’s scariest).

Forever and always, this will be marked down as one of the greatest weekends of our career, and we are beyond honored to present to the world, our illustration of Mr. & Mrs. Windham’s epic New York City elopement.
