Preparing for our Spring trip to NYC, we knew that we had to find at least one super rad couple to photograph during our down time, apart from our bride and groom. Avery and Ben happened to be friends of the bride and groom and were going to be in Manhattan that same weekend. We all hit it off pretty quickly, joking and relating to one another in the best ways; and we found it to be just such an effortless day of shooting (minus the crazy amount of walking - nonetheless, it was all more than worth it.) Meeting Avery and Ben was one of the highlights of our trip, and we are so pleased to now call them friends.

We began in Central Park, where the sound of talented performers, mixed with the beautiful, peaceful landscape filled us with inspiration for days. Our next spot was within Central Park at the stunning Bethesda Terrace. The lighting in the Terrace was absolute perfection, so we spent a while there. Plus, it was filled with people walking around, so that made things a little more interesting when it came to getting those wide shots to show off the architecture. But we think the challenge brought some serious reward.

Our last stop, planned out at the perfect time of day to get that gorgeous, gloomy lighting, was the Top of the Rock. We found it to be even more challenging than the others to work around the tourist aspect, but we persisted yet again, and found that people were generally pretty considerate. My favorite part of visiting the Top of the Rock with Avery and Ben was definitely being able to take in the view in between shots, further bringing excitement and joy to the experience for all of us. Giving people great photos is an amazing feeling, but sharing surreal moments as a couple with other souls in love is absolutely priceless.

I feel that if i'm going to write about these two lovely people, I have to mention how apparent their passion is for each other as well. They had no problem going in for multiple kisses or butt grabs. Ben gave her endless compliments and made her laugh all throughout the day. Behind the camera, my dorky heart-eyes face lit up every time he would make her laugh because they're just that freaking adorable. They were actually celebrating year 4 of marriage by having a session with us during their trip, but it seriously felt like we were photographing a brand new bride and groom.

This further proves that our job of capturing love stories doesn't start or end at the wedding day.

Neither should the butt grabs.

Thanks so much to Avery and Ben for hanging with us and allowing us to be your paparazzi for the day! You guys are literal rockstars.

xoxo,

Abby Dell
