This year, Evan and I originally had no plans of going out for New Years Eve, since we were in the trenches of sleep-deprived parenting our (then) 10 month old. But when our good friend Hank messaged us about taking part in his and Hannah’s Lakeland wedding on December 31, we couldn’t turn down the excuse to stay out past dark again.
To start, despite the inevitable hustle and bustle on the wedding morning, there was an air of tranquility and joy that permeated throughout as we arrived to The Terrace Hotel in downtown Lakeland for Hannah’s getting ready shots. She had such a cheerful, calm demeanor that I’m not sure we’d ever seen displayed by a bride on the morning of her wedding. Anything we suggested or needed, she was down to make it happen. The chillest bride ever.
From the heartfelt exchange of vows right before sunset to Hank giving his best impression of Ryan Gosling in The Notebook beneath a canopy of twinkling lights, each new event felt like a fairytale. As the festivities unfolded, we had the privilege of witnessing countless moments of love and laughter throughout the reception, and even got to hug the necks of some old mutual friends while capturing it all. Hearing the heartfelt toasts from loved ones further proved that these two are the kind of people that inevitably leave a positive mark on those around them.
Hank and Hannah’s laid-back demeanor, coupled with their unwavering trust in our vision, allowed us to capture their love story authentically, and I love how evident their connection shines through each shot. To H & H, thank you for entrusting us with the honor of capturing your special day. This day will forever hold a place in our hearts, and we’re grateful for being able to take part.
Venue: Bonnet Springs Park - This “newer” to Lakeland wedding venue served as the perfect backdrop for this day. This was our first time working here for an event, but we thoroughly enjoyed how seamlessly it blended natural beauty with modern amenities. Its lush greenery, serene lakes, and charming history make it a dream location for couples seeking an enchanting setting for their Lakeland, Florida wedding.
